“Would certainly do a repeat trip back”
Conveniently located to the local attractions. The walking trail right at the hotel was a great bonus. Having the fridge & stove was excellent even though we didn't use it much as we were too busy seeing the sights. For the price of the room this was a very good deal, there is a bar were a lot of locals hang out, staff are friendly. Only tried the restaurant for breakfast once & it was good too. I would definitely stay here again.

“Pretty good hotel for the price we payed!”
It's a nice small hotel located just about 7-10 minutes of driving from downtown. The service is pretty good and the rooms are decent. When we go next time this hotel will be number one in our list. Of course I recommend this place to my friends.

“Great price for full kitchen”
The Kitchen suite was very functional and allowed me to save a lot of money by eating groceries. The location was very nice to me. The gorge area has a lot of modern condos and walk/run/bike trails with excellent water views. To save on parking i took the bus that conveniently stops almost right out in front and goes direct to downtown. I never used the swimming pool facilities so i cannot comment. The staff were amiable and helpful

“Can't wait to back to Victoria”
The staff were very friendly, and the little pub in the hotel was fantastic. Every nite they had a different function going on. One nite was a blues jamming session, one nite karoke, one nite a band. And the locals were very friendly. The hotel staff were lots of fun. We enjoyed our stay there very much

“convenient, comfortable and restful for a good price”
convenient, comfortable and restful for a good price. King size bed, fridge and microwave were just what we needed to get a relaxed stay and good night rest.

This clean and cheap hotel, situated few minutes from downtown is well located: we were able to walk from the hotel to the parliament building: it's a 30 minutes walk! We have rented a room with a kitchen, and the space was huge enough for us. So we recommand warmly this hotel in Victoria.
“Across from the Trail!!!”
A comfortable "lower-cost" hotel with good friendly management and staff and across from an access to the Galloping Goose Trail which is half hour walk to downtown. Older hotel but overall a fairly good deal. Manager is great!!

“economical and convenient”
We absolutely would go back to this hotel. We had a suite with full kitchen for a week, and it was nice to be able to have a quiet breakfast, or a light lunch before we began our driving tours of the area. The staff was friendly and helpful, and even though our room was over the bar, we heard very little noise. All in all, it was a good experience
It is centrally located and rooms are very nice not too modern but in good condition. The staff is very helpfull. It feels like you are in your own house .

Not too far from town. Reasonably Priced Clean and Quiet All the Basics, nothing special
“Fabulous value, great spot, big pool, caring staff” 4/5
You can't beat the value of this Hojo near downtown. The staff are wonderful and we got a big suite for my family. If you have kids or like to swim, the large pool will be a delight. The hotel is older but you definately get what you pay for. I recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

“A five star hotel experience at the fraction of the cost” 5/5
Howard Johnson Hotel, Victoria treated us as if we were in a 5-star hotel! The room, which included a kitchenette, was very clean, the bedding & towels sparkling white and the bed very comfortable. What really stood out, though, was the service we received from the manager and his staff. They were always EXTREMELY pleasant and helpful--they went beyond the call of duty to make sure we were comfortable and to recommend things to see and do while touring Victoria. They even printed out directions (on Mapquest) and suggested where to obtain the cheapest parking (often free) on our outings. Thanks to Howard Johnson we had an amazing time in beautiful Victoria at a fraction of the cost we expected to pay!

This hotel is minutes to downtown. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. It had internet access included and easy to use laundry facilities. The parking was included. Tim Hortons, convenience store & good chinese food just two blocks away to walk too.

HoJo, Victoria City Center, truly do provide you with a "home away from home". My wife and myself continue to return here, (when in Victoria) because everyone on staff continues to extend a feeling of warmth, friendliness and service. Hats off to all!
“Thank to all the HOJO staff & Friendly Manager”
I stayed in HOJO more than 1 month during Victoria peck Season but they offered me a very good rate and professional Services as well.[Soft Break]It was a nice area and close to my work, Safe and quiet location.HOJO also has very friendly personnel Thanks to all of them.[Soft Break]Rooms are big enough and comfortable, HOJO has almost every thing you need during your trip and I really enjoyed my stay.
This hotel is really advisable for people who travel to Victoria, BC, Canada... The staff is very friendly, the rooms are quiet and clean, and an indoor pool and a small fitness center are offered... The main drawback is that it's a little bit outside of downtown Victoria, but, the city center is in walking distance (about 20min)... Hence, it's perfect for travelers who like to walk or who own a car... Last but not least, a very good hotel for a very good price...
We have stayed at HOJO on the Gorge for the past 4 years, and we are booked in again for 4 months in 2010. The Staff are great, no matter which service you are dealing with. The manager, Michael, goes out of his way to make all his guests happy. HOJO feels like our HOME AWAY FROM HOME. Any problems with housekeeping, no matter how minor, gets looked after almost immediately.
“It was everything we expected and more” 5/5 (2005)
We started with a great rate and when we arrived we received 5 star customer service from all the staff. The Hotel was comfortable and clean and the facilities were wonderful. I truly felt at home.
